Doctors. Drugs. Unfiltered opinions. The unvarnished truth. These are things that are rarely if ever, seen together. This is due to the way doctors are acculturated, and due to ongoing pressures, both subtle and overt, from the War on Drugs. We are expected to parrot the 'party line', which is exactly what most doctors have been doing, dutifully, for the last half-century, or more.

But what if the party line is misleading? Or, flat out wrong? Or, worse, what if it is harmful, and leads to drug and addiction policies that grievously harm people, especially people of color?

Where can one find an alternative but informed, progressive but objective opinion on these critical issues, from a highly established member of the medical community?

With a paid subscription to my newsletter 'Grinspoon On Drugs', you will have private access to what I truly think about weed, ecstasy, shrooms, acid, ketamine, 2C-B and all the other drugs- about benefits,  harms, and addiction potential.  Having been a primary care doctor for a quarter of a century, I truly have seen it all: the good, the bad, the ugly.

Having overcome a vicious addiction to opioids, and having monitored and treated hundreds of doctors for addiction, I can say that no one understands what it's like to be addicted better than I do, and how to kick an opioid habit.

Over my career, I have treated thousands of patients with addiction. I also incorporate medicinal cannabis into my practice -- something I have been involved with my entire career, and have been advocating for, as a legal option for patients, since birth.

I write about these issues with scientific integrity as well as with irreverence and humor. We'll have great fun as we work together to dismantle our miserable War on Drugs and to educate ourselves on the various truths (benefits, harms, chemistry, social context, structural causes, etc.) surrounding drug use and addiction.'

I’m looking forward to the discussion!
