One major talking point of our misguided War on Drugs is the widespread notion that when teens use, or even try cannabis, it acts as a ‘gateway’, or as a semiautomatic conveyer belt, from pre-adulthood innocence to an increased risk of addiction to harder drugs such as heroin.
